Utility-scale solar and storage company RES has opened a warehouse facility in Houston, Texas, to provide support to its growing solar and storage O&M business. RES manages a growing portfolio of solar, BESS and wind assets across North America, and the Houston facility will play a direct role in supporting those assets.
As RES’ primary U.S. inventory management hub, the facility will consolidate stock to support O&M projects across solar and BESS, centralize tools, PPE, parts and consumables to deliver cost efficiencies, and provide the scale to leverage supply chain relationships across the portfolio. The facility also expands RES’ spare parts commercial offering — including vendor managed inventory — in a location customers can visit directly.
“Supply-chain resilience is now a critical part of asset performance. By investing in local infrastructure, we are ensuring our customers have faster, more reliable access to the parts and expertise they need, whatever the external environment brings,” said Juan Gutiérrez, CEO of RES Services.
The initial phase focuses on materials stocking and supply chain operations. Future phases of the facility will introduce technical training capabilities and, in time, equipment repair and refurbishment services, supporting customers across the full asset lifecycle.
