Enphase Energy is expanding access to a battery software designed to reduce operational losses from residential inverters. Enphase has launched its PowerMatch technology for IQ Battery 10C systems in the United States, including Puerto Rico, and for IQ Battery 5P systems across North America and select countries in Central America and the Caribbean. PowerMatch adjusts IQ Battery operation to match a home’s real-time power needs.
PowerMatch is designed to reduce energy losses in inverters attached to residential storage technologies. IQ Batteries use multiple embedded microinverters, and PowerMatch can activate the number of microinverters needed at a given time. Enphase claims it can reduce energy losses in an average California home by up to 1 kWh daily.
“PowerMatch reflects the power of Enphase’s distributed architecture,” said Aaron Gordon, senior VP and general manager of the systems business unit at Enphase. “When intelligence is built into the system, software can make the hardware better over time — helping homeowners get more usable energy and more long-term value from the battery they already own.”
In 2026, Enphase has started distributing microinverters for the U.S. commercial solar market, and is reportedly starting volume production of bidirectional EV chargers in Q4. The company also laid off more than 160 employees in February.
