Solar inverter manufacturer SolarEdge Technologies is debuting its Nexis residential solar and storage platform in the United States. Nexis was originally launched in Germany in March, and SolarEdge has reported that the system has been used in more than 2,000 solar plus storage systems.
Nexis packages SolarEdge’s residential energy storage, inverter and its management software into a modular system designed to work in constrained spaces. SolarEdge likens Nexis to LEGO bricks, as each piece of the system “clicks” into the next.
“[Nexis] represents years of innovation and customer feedback brought together into a single platform designed to make solar-plus-storage more powerful, more intuitive and easier to deploy,” said Nick Alex, VP of residential sales, North America, for SolarEdge. “With orders now open across the U.S., we’re excited to help installers and homeowners experience a platform designed to simplify installation, maximize flexibility and support the evolving energy needs of modern homes.”
According to its product sheet, Nexis is compatible with both SolarEdge’s string and microinverters. It is capable of working with PV systems up to 13 kW when grid connected, and 14.5 kW when off grid. Nexis’ energy storage can range from 5 kWh to 80 kWh.
SolarEdge will host a public live stream on July 15 from 9 to 11 a.m. (PDT) to commemorate Nexis’ arrival in the U.S. market, which will feature giveaways, including Nexis technologies.
