Shoals Technologies Group’s new 638,000-ft2 manufacturing facility in Portland, Tennessee, officially marked its grand opening this week. The site will make Shoals’ line of electronical balance of system (eBOS) products for the solar, storage and mission-critical facility industries.
“As demand for energy infrastructure continues to accelerate, this new Mega Facility allows Shoals to scale alongside our customers and meet the needs of a rapidly evolving energy landscape,” said Brandon Moss, Shoals CEO. “By expanding our domestic manufacturing footprint and bringing increased capacity, we are strengthening the American energy supply chain and enabling faster, more efficient energy deployment.”
The new manufacturing campus consolidates Shoals’ three existing Tennessee facilities into one centralized location, significantly expanding production capacity, increasing automation in production and packaging, and leveraging operational efficiencies to support increasing demand across the energy sector.
The opening of the Mega Facility also coincides with Shoals’ 30th anniversary, celebrating three decades of innovation.
When Shoals first announced the new site two years ago, the company estimated it would support 550 new jobs and bring the company’s total headcount to 1,400.
