Global industrial company MacLean-Fogg has acquired domestic roll-forming manufacturer OMCO and its solar racking and tracker businesses.
“We are excited about this opportunity to take OMCO Solar to the next level, now with the backing of a great partner in MacLean-Fogg. We look forward to growing our team and adding even more value to our customers.” said Eric Goodwin, VP of business development for OMCO Solar.
Following the acquisition, OMCO Solar will still operate under its name and retain company leadership. OMCO Solar has produced factory-direct fixed-tilt racking and single-axis trackers for the large commercial and utility-scale markets. Last year, the company expanded its technological scope and debuted the proprietary Star Tracker Control System for its single-axis trackers.
“This newly formed synergy is complementary to our already well-established brand name. With so many commonalities such as strength in culture, customer-focused service approach and decades of manufacturing experience to just name a few. Continued success is inevitable. Today we are not just celebrating an acquisition — we are celebrating the union of vision, talent, and momentum. When bold ideas meet strategic opportunity, growth stops being a goal and becomes our new reality.” said Kevin Hopp, president of OMCO Solar.
OMCO maintains six facilities across Arizona, Ohio, Indiana and Alabama that produce solar tracker and racking components. The company also produces backrails for solar panel manufacturer First Solar.
“OMCO stood out for its strong culture, technical capability, and customer-centered operating approach,” said Duncan MacLean, president and CEO of MacLean-Fogg. “This acquisition represents a highly complementary step in our strategy to thoughtfully expand and diversify into high-quality industrial markets.”
