Solar Power World today announces a new case study feature: Solar Power World’s Projects of Impact.
In each regular issue of Solar Power World, we’ll be featuring a solar PV project that goes beyond the inherent good of putting clean renewable electrons on the grid. When deployed thoughtfully, solar projects can have a lasting positive impact beyond the technology’s designed capabilities. Co-locating agricultural activities like animal grazing, crop cultivation or raising honeybees on a ground-mounted solar project site can make that land healthier in the process. Building an array on the roof of a non-profit with slim operating margins or for a person struggling to make ends meet can ensure longer economic stability for them. Temporary solar installations have brought life-saving power back to communities rocked by disasters.
Yes, electrifying the grid is admirable and necessary. But it’s also worth highlighting the projects that have managed to do even more.
If you have built a solar array that you believe is worthy of recognition, please send an email to Senior Editor Billy Ludt ([email protected]) with a short description as to why. If you need help coming up with an answer, ask yourself, what has this project accomplished? Who or what has it ultimately helped by being built?
We know there are many arrays out there worthy of recognition. Let’s give them a moment in the spotlight.
