Terrasmart, a turnkey solar racking technologies company, has launched Peak Production Package for its proprietary PeakYield solar tracker software. PeakYield is programmed to increase tracker performance, minimize downtime, protect sites from weather events and streamline O&M troubleshooting.

PeakYield accounts for uneven surfaces on project sites and cloudy sky conditions with backtracking and position for irradiant light. It displays real-time array production data and provides remote access to tracker sites, with the option to position the array row by row. The software has been validated by DNV, an international product testing and certification group.
Terrasmart has reportedly seen a 5% improvement in performance gains, compared to previous tracker software models. Peak Production Package can be deployed in both utility or distributed generation scales.
“We’re proud that PeakYield is known for its industry-leading yield optimization. The Peak Production Package builds on this foundation with sophisticated enhancements that further maximize production,” said Ashton Vandemark, VP of software solutions, Terrasmart. “On top of its proven energy yield benefits, the Peak Production Package opens new doors of opportunity to projects that typically don’t have access to this elevated level of technology, especially additional yield improvement on distributed-generation scale solar sites. In fact, additional energy gains from our topography informed backtracking are already being leveraged when modeling energy production during the financing stage.”
Peak Production Package’s debut arrives one month after parent company Gibraltar sold Terrasmart’s electrical balance of system business to GameChange Solar. Gibraltar stated in a press release that it plans to sell Terrasmart’s racking business, as well.
