SolarCycle has signed supply agreements for almost the entirety of its solar glass production capacity, before its upcoming glass plant in Cedartown, Georgia, has even gotten started.
Today the company announced its latest partnership — a five-year agreement with Illuminate USA for 3 GW of solar glass each year. Illuminate joins other U.S. manufacturers Silfab, Runergy, Heliene and more in securing a domestic glass supply.
“This agreement is a meaningful signal to the market about the future of solar manufacturing in the U.S.,” said Suvi Sharma, chief executive officer and co-founder of SolarCycle. “Despite some challenging policy headwinds, there is still significant market demand for high-quality, domestically manufactured materials that support U.S. solar manufacturing. We are proud to welcome Illuminate USA as our anchor customer for the first-of-its-kind American solar glass factory.”
SolarCycle is a solar panel recycler with recycling sites across the country. The company announced last year its intentions to start a glass production facility in Georgia that will use some recycled glass in its process. The facility is shovel-ready, and SolarCycle is finalizing the remaining investment to begin construction. The company targets early 2028 for initial deliveries of solar glass.
