The Supreme Court of Ohio has affirmed the Ohio Power Siting Board’s 2022 decision to grant the 350-MW Harvey Solar Project its Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need.
Developed by Open Road Renewables, Harvey Solar will be located in Hartford and Bennington Townships of Licking County with an 18 to 24 month construction phase, which can now commence with the Supreme Court’s ruling. Late-stage studies are underway to prepare for construction. The project will require 300 to 400 construction workers, with additional long-term employees during operation.

Not only will the local community benefit from the project, but it will generate clean, affordable, homegrown energy to help meet Ohio’s growing demand for power.”
Harvey Solar has made additional financial commitments to the Hartford Fire Department, the Hartford Independent Fair, Licking County Park District and other community benefits that will be realized when the project commences construction. Additionally, Harvey Solar is partnering with the local joint vocational school, C-TEC, on workforce development to help future generations of Licking County students pursue careers in the skilled trades.
