Advanced Green Technologies (AGT), a Florida-based commercial solar contractor founded in 2007, has transitioned to an employee-owned organization along with its parent company, Advanced Roofing Inc.
AGT and its affiliated businesses will maintain their leadership, personnel and operational practices through the change to an employee-owned organization. AGT operates as the renewable energy division of Advanced Roofing, which was established in 1983 and has grown into a fully integrated commercial roofing, HVAC and solar services provider across Florida. The organization also includes Advanced Air Systems, founded in 1994. Today, the Advanced family of businesses serves clients from seven Florida locations and employs more than 750 people statewide.
The shift to employee ownership is in hopes of maintaining long-term business sustainability as commercial construction and renewable energy markets consolidate, the company stated in a press release. In employee ownership scenarios, organizational governance is represented by the people employed at a company, and in AGT’s case, they’re the ones responsible for designing, installing and maintaining systems, and invested in their performance.
“Employee ownership reinforces our focus on accountability and long-term value,” said Rob Kornahrens, founder and CEO of the Advanced family of businesses. “For Advanced Green Technologies’ clients, it means working with teams who have a direct stake in the quality, reliability and longevity of every solar system we deliver.”
AGT will continue to operate with the same engineers, project managers, field crews and leadership teams, supported by established safety protocols and project delivery processes.
“Our approach may have evolved, but our mission has not,” Kornahrens said. “Advanced Green Technologies will continue delivering dependable, forward-thinking solar solutions—now supported by a structure designed for longevity and accountability.”
