Everybody Solar announced it has once again partnered with the Glacier National Park Conservancy, marking their third collaborative project. This latest venture, significantly bolstered by the support of Citizen Watch US, through 1% for the Planet, brings to life a pioneering solar array installation that promises to revolutionize the way the Conservancy operates and supports its seasonal workforce. Celebrating over a decade of expertise in serving nonprofits with solar energy, Everybody Solar is at the forefront of demonstrating the powerful impact of sustainable practices in preserving natural treasures like Glacier National Park.
The latest solar venture, featuring a 12.09-kW solar array at the Beta Rd. House, promises to significantly reduce operational costs by offsetting 76% of the residence’s energy consumption. The addition of an electric vehicle charging station underscores a leap toward sustainable transportation for park staff.
“I’m so proud of this project,” said Doug Mitchell, executive director of the Glacier National Park Conservancy. “True to its mission, Everybody Solar has, in this one small project, made real change happen,” Mitchell continued. “The installation of solar at our workforce housing unit will permanently reduce our carbon footprint, and in so doing save critical resources that can be redirected to ensuring our ability to provide affordable housing to my co-workers and providing direct grant support to Glacier National Park.”
Previous collaborations with Everybody Solar and the conservancy have set a strong foundation, with solar installations at Glacier National Park’s headquarters and the Grizzly Point comfort station.
