Media Release

Australia’s battery market is gearing up for a major shift, and AlphaESS is positioning itself firmly at the front. Following a landmark strategic visit in Nantong, China, AlphaESS and Australian distributor Energy Spurt have unveiled a new generation of “subsidy-ready” energy storage solutions designed to align with upcoming federal rebate changes from 1 May 2026. The announcement signals a clear focus on helping Australian households and businesses maximise financial returns while accelerating the transition to energy independence.

A strategic push for the 2026 subsidy era

Held at AlphaESS’ global headquarters on the 12th of March, the Strategic Visit Program 2026 brought together more than 80 of Energy Spurt’s leading installers and retail partners. Attendees were given exclusive access to AlphaESS’ latest innovations, including the M30 and M50 industrial series, along with the G3-T three-phase residential systems. These systems have been specifically engineered to align with Australia’s evolving rebate framework, with the goal of maximising eligibility and financial return under the new policy settings.

With federal incentives set to change from May, the timing is no coincidence. Manufacturers are now designing systems not just for performance, but also for policy compatibility and economic optimisation. This shift reflects a maturing market where compliance and value are just as important as capacity and output.

Built for Australian conditions and policy changes

AlphaESS has long treated Australia as a core market, and that commitment continues to shape its product development strategy. Founder and CEO Thomas Yuan reinforced this focus:

“Our journey in Australia remains a cornerstone of our global success. Reaching the No. 1 market share position is a direct reflection of the trust shared by our Australian partners. Beyond technology, it is our collaborative spirit and shared accountability that drive us toward making clean energy accessible to everyone in the world.”

This local-first approach extends beyond hardware. AlphaESS has invested heavily in onshore support, installer relationships, and long-term market presence. As rebate structures become more complex, this level of local integration is becoming increasingly important for both installers and end users.

Industry validation ahead of major rebate changes

The upcoming rebate changes have sparked strong interest across the industry, and AlphaESS appears well aligned with what lies ahead. John Grimes, Chief Executive of the Smart Energy Council, highlighted the brand’s positioning within this new landscape:

“AlphaESS has a deep history and immense influence in Australia. As we move into a significant new phase for rebates this May, AlphaESS is arguably the most suitable brand for this ‘subsidy era.’ Their products are engineered to stay ahead of policy changes, offering the best economic benefits for homeowners while leading the market in reliability and onshore support.”

This endorsement reflects a broader shift across the sector. Battery systems are no longer judged solely on technical specifications. Their ability to integrate with incentives, virtual power plants, and evolving grid requirements is now just as critical.

Energy Spurt: A five-year partnership driving market growth

The collaboration between AlphaESS and Energy Spurt has been central to the brand’s Australian success. Energy Spurt Chairman Gavin Li reflected on the evolution of the partnership over the past five years:

“Over the past five years, we have stood side-by-side with AlphaESS, witnessing their technology evolve from early explorations to today’s world-class solutions. Our partnership has long surpassed the definition of ‘supplier and distributor’; it is a long-term strategic alliance rooted in mutual trust and shared values. As one of the first brands involved in the SA Home Battery Scheme, AlphaESS has proven its dedication through 11 years of local operation, earning the highest level of recognition from Australian installers and end-users alike.”

This long-term alignment has helped bridge global manufacturing expertise with local market needs. For installers and retailers, that means access to proven technology backed by strong support networks.

Strengthening Australia’s energy future

The Nantong summit wrapped up with a gala celebrating both innovation and partnership, blending traditional Chinese cultural elements with futuristic technology showcases. While symbolic, the event highlighted a deeper message about the next phase of Australia’s energy transition.

AlphaESS Australia, established in 2015, now operates as the company’s APAC headquarters and supports one of the largest onshore technical and after-sales teams in the country. With systems deployed in more than 130 countries and a global workforce of over 1,200 employees, AlphaESS continues to strengthen its position as a major player in energy storage.

Energy Spurt plays a key role in connecting global manufacturers with Australia’s nationwide network of installers and retailers. Together, the two companies are helping to ensure that advanced, policy-aligned energy solutions are readily available across the country.

The rebate era for Australians

As Australia heads into a new rebate era, one thing is clear. The smartest systems will be those designed with policy in mind from day one. AlphaESS’ latest product range reflects that shift, combining performance, scalability, and subsidy optimisation into a single offering.

For homeowners, this means greater savings potential and improved energy independence. For installers, it simplifies compliance and system design. For the broader market, it signals another step towards a more resilient, decentralised energy future.
