SolaTrim has launched a new line of products to protect homes and solar systems from the threat of wildfire. SolEmber is a mesh-based system installed around the edge of a solar system on a sloped roof to prevent ember intrusion underneath the array.
Built with “FireStorm EmberMesh” technology, the code-compliant shield prevents wildfire fuel and wildlife debris from accumulating under solar arrays. SolaTrim says that most structures destroyed in wildfires ignite from embers, not direct flames.
“Wildfire season is longer and more destructive than ever before,” said Ernie Bayless, Managing Partner. “With SolEmber, we’re giving homeowners, builders and communities a powerful, lasting defense that is as practical as it is essential. This product represents the next chapter in SolaTrim’s commitment to safety, innovation, and protecting America’s renewable energy future.”
Made from 304 stainless steel with a low-visibility black powder coat finish, SolEmber is WUI and IWUI certified, meets ASTM E2886 testing standards, is Class A fire-rated and compliant with Chapter 7A wildfire construction codes.
