Applications are now being accepted through May 22, 2026, for the 15th anniversary edition of Solar Power World’s Top Solar Contractors List. U.S. solar developers, installers and subcontractors can submit their applications on Solar Power World’s website.
“Each successful year in the U.S. solar industry is worth celebrating, but the milestone anniversaries are sweeter,” said Kelly Pickerel, editor in chief of Solar Power World. “With most contractors now measuring experience in decades rather than months, the 15th edition of the Top Solar Contractors List will showcase a mature industry. The installation companies included on this list have faced obstacles in all directions and still brought gigawatts of solar to the American electric grid.”
The Solar Power World Top Solar Contractors List is the most recognized annual listing of solar contractors in the United States. These companies are working in the utility, commercial, community and residential markets, and will be ranked based on the previous year’s installed kilowatt capacity. The list provides local solar installers with a free marketing opportunity to broadcast their installation accomplishments. Companies are listed according to their primary service (developer, EPC, installer, electrical subcontractor, installation subcontractor, sales partner) and based on the kilowatts installed in specific markets (residential, commercial, community, utility). The four markets are also further divided by project type, distinctions that are included as secondary identifiers on the market lists.
All companies involved with the installation of solar projects across the United States are invited to join this exclusive list. Applicants must provide proof of installation numbers by submitting 2025 project details in an Excel document. Solar Power World editors will verify submitted data with state interconnection records and utility records. (Note: Provided information will not be used for any other purpose or provided to others for solicitation. Submitted project data will be destroyed after installation numbers are verified.) In addition to state, market and service lists based on solar kilowatts, Solar Power World features a Top Solar + Storage Installers sublist, ranking companies based on the amount of energy storage (measured in kilowatt-hours) installed with solar projects. Applicants only have to include an additional column on their Excel document showing storage installations to be considered for this 2026 list.
Project data must be submitted at the time of application. The deadline to apply for the 2026 Top Solar Contractors list is May 22, 2026.
